Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon
I am a Consultant in Orthopaedics specialising in hip and knee replacement surgery, musculoskeletal oncology, osseointegration and trauma. I am keen to see and assess a wide range of clients including those with bone and soft tissue lumps (both benign and malignant), hip or knee replacements, arthritis, fractures, soft tissue injuries and amputations.
I am currently based at Glasgow Royal Infirmary and the Nuffield Health Glasgow Hospital.

I studied Medicine at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne. After graduation I worked in Newcastle upon Tyne, the Central Coast in Australia, Middlesbrough, and Northumberland before returning home to complete my specialist orthopaedic training in the West of Scotland. I also undertook fellowships at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary and the Mount Sinai Hospital, Toronto, and I recently became a Honorary Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Glasgow.

I have been awarded several prestigious travelling fellowships to leading units across North America (Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard; Parkland Memorial Hospital, Dallas), Australia (Macquarie University Hospital, Sydney), Europe, and Asia (Seoul National University Hospital, Seoul; Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai; and Ganga Hospital, Coimbatore).
Publications
I have over 60 publications in peer-reviewed journals and am a manuscript reviewer for some leading orthopaedic journals.
My publications are on wide ranging subjects from enhanced recovery and ideal implant positioning for hip replacement components through to tumour biology.
Global Surgery
I am fortunate to have had the opportunity to combine my love of orthopaedics and travelling to care for patients, train local surgeons and visit many parts of the world.
My global experience spans Guyana, India, Ghana and Ethiopia.
